There’s no doubt about it: it’s going to be a hot summer! In recent days, temperatures have soared in the capital. On public transport, it quickly becomes hell. But then, where to keep cool in the city with this hot weather? Use this map to locate no fewer than 800 cool islands in Paris!
800 “îlots de fraîcheur” identified in Paris
In Paris, it’s hard to keep cool without the sea nearby, unlike our friends to the south. This interactive map will help you find places to cool off, day or night. Fountains, misters, swimming pools, shaded wooded areas, air-conditioned public places… In all, more than 800 cool islands have been identified. A “day and night” tab identifies green spaces open all night in summer, and those open 24 hours a day during heatwaves.

This useful information was collected in 2018 by Apur (Atelier parisien d’urbanisme) at the request of the City of Paris. All in all : 800 cool spots during the day, and around 150 at night.
There are 565 green and wooded areas, 36 bathing areas, 25 misted areas, 150 “cool” public establishments such as churches and museums, and 46 air-conditioned establishments such as museums and libraries.
