Gare de Lyon closed on May 1
We’ve been telling you about this for a few weeks now, but the big day is fast approaching… If you were planning to take a train from Gare de Lyon on Friday, May 1, you’ll have to change your plans… In fact, no trains will be running at the station until 2 p.m. on April 3!
A drastic but absolutely necessary decision, as major work will be carried out to ensure the network runs smoothly. Technicians will therefore be hard at work replacing signal boxes dating from the 1980s and 1990s with more modern and efficient equipment.

This work affects the TGV Inoui and Lyria trains, as well as the RER D (suspended on several sections) and the R line.
If you were planning to travel to southeastern France, the SNCF assures us that 55% of the TGVs that usually run from Gare de Lyon will still be operating, departing from other Parisian stations….
