Open since June 3, the Torcy Leisure Island is a true haven of peace. Tucked away in the heart of a 350-hectare estate, you’re going to love this place. With its crystal-clear lake, massive water slides, beach, and water sports, you certainly won’t get bored…. But here’s the thing: this little haven of peace isn’t necessarily accessible to everyone. That’s why the Paris-Vallée de la Marne Tourist Office has set up free shuttles throughout the month of August… Here’s how it works.
Free shuttles to Lake Torcy
Every day, between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., free shuttles will run from Torcy Station (RER A) to Vaires-Torcy Station (Line P) and back to make it easier for visitors to get there. Direct access to the recreation center, its beach, and its lake will be available through August 30.
This project, led by Xavier Vanderbise, mayor of Courtry and vice president of the metropolitan area, aims to make swimming areas more accessible to as many people as possible. It’s a wonderful initiative that will allow many residents of the Île-de-France region to cool off throughout August, which is already shaping up to be a very hot month…
Expect a wait of about 30 to 40 minutes between each shuttle on weekdays, and about 1 hour on weekends.
