Audrey Tautou may be big on the screen, but she’s always been rather discreet on the town. Yes, despite being one of the most talented French actresses of her generation, the actress has never seemed to enjoy being in the spotlight when it comes to her private life. Le Fabuleux destin d’Audrey at Quai de la Photo
With the “Superficial” exhibition, which echoes her book, Audrey Tautou offers Parisians a veritable plunge into her inner world. With a great deal of humor, she questions the notion of celebrity and, in a way, lays herself bare, as she so aptly puts it, “I’ve taken off the beautiful suit that was tailor-made for me.” More than a photo exhibition, “Superficial” creates a feeling of closeness with the public, thanks in particular to Audrey Tautou’s self-assumed self-mockery, which offers a new perspective on the actress. Two other photo series enrich the exhibition. One shows portraits of the actress taken by journalists, revealing the behind-the-scenes aspects of media coverage. The other shows anonymous people photographed from behind, questioning our relationship with celebrity in a completely different way .
