A major event in the bargain-hunters’ calendar, the Foire de Chatou returns in early March. Over 300 exhibitors will be unpacking their finds 15 minutes from Paris, on Chatou’s Île des Impressionnistes, transformed into a giant open-air flea market.
The Foire de Chatou, the big event for lovers of secondhand goods and antiques
Don’t be put off by weekends spent scouring yard sales and brocantes with your back bent over cardboard boxes, lifting dusty knick-knacks to discover their stamps? From March 7 onwards, the Foire de Chatou offers you a digging ground like no other. Considered the largest (and oldest) antiques fair in France, this event first took place on Chatou’s Île des Impressionnistes in 1970. Since then, twice a year, the institution has transformed the pretty island into a flea market village, visited by an average of 20,000 to 25,000 people, from hardened collectors to strollers in search of picturesque strolls!
340 exhibitors for the 108th edition
The treasure hunt opens on March 7! For ten days, 340 professional exhibitors in a wide range of specialties will be unpacking the fruits of months, even years, of research and collecting! Tableware, antique linens, paintings, furniture, books… the Foire de Chatou, Ali Baba’s cave for bargain hunters of all stripes, will be the place to be, the land of fulfilled dreams! Here, you’ll come across the antique wooden furniture you’ve been looking for, a linen tablecloth for your dining table, armchairs from the 50s, antique paper or toys from the early 20th century… An incredible number of unique items, surprises and discoveries from the past await you!
