Free fireworks to bid farewell to the Centre Pompidou
World-renowned for his creativity and technical skill, artist Cai Guo-Quiang will stage a three-act fireworks show to bid farewell to our beloved Beaubourg in style. The show has been specially designed to be seen in daylight, and will highlight the museum’s distinctive architecture.

The show aims to poetically celebrate the institution’s history and collection, while offering a reflection on its past, present and future. A magnificent spectacle that will set the entire façade ablaze, creating a unique and vibrant work of contemporary art before your very eyes! If seats on the forecourt have already been reserved and are sold out, there’s no reason why you can’t come and watch the show from a distance.
Can’t make it? The museum is planning to celebrate its closing in style! On Friday 24 and Saturday 25, you can enjoy a free, open-access program of artistic performances, showcases and immersive experiences.
