Always the scene of brilliant musical exhibitions, the Philharmonie de Paris will close its 2024 year… with music, as usual. And for this highlight, it’s a classical monument that the institution will be tackling, as it’s Maurice Ravel’s Boléro that will take center stage. To mark the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth, a great sensory exhibition is on the horizon at La Villette. See you there!
Ravel’s Bolero in the spotlight with this brilliant exhibition
After the poetic exhibition “En Amour”, the brilliant festival Days Off, but also, more recently, an event dedicated to metal, the Philharmonie is once again giving us an appointment this year to celebrate music. From December 3 to June 15, the La Villette institution pays tribute to a true masterpiece. If Ravel’s Boléro is played on average every 15 minutes around the world, no doubt you’ve already hummed this mythical and recognizable tune!
Whatever the case, the Philharmonie awaits you around a superb set-up that will thrill all your senses. Sets, costumes and even paintings: numerous works revolving around the iconic composition will be on display. Commissioned by dancer-choreographer Ida Rubinstein, the Bolero will be explored and analyzed from its creation to its performance around the world. Thanks to a superb cinematographic device, you’ll be able to discover the work from a different angle, watch choreographies and experience magical orchestral performances.
In short, in addition to enjoying a unique musical experience, you’ll learn everything you need to know about this iconic work.
