As the Parisian cultural year draws to a close with a host of exciting events, we’re already looking ahead to 2026, a year already synonymous with eagerly awaited exhibitions. From major institutions to little-known addresses, the first highlights of the coming year are gradually being unveiled. Here’s a taste of what’s in store!
Destination Lune: an immersive journey with Tom Hanks at the Atelier des Lumières
L’Atelier des Lumières is the reference venue for immersive exhibitions in Paris. Right in the heart of the vibrant 11th arrondissement, it offers visitors of all ages an off-the-beaten-track museum experience. Right now, we’re heading for infinity and beyond with Destination Lune: an immersive journey narrated by the French voice of Tom Hanks. 59 Studio, champion of all categories in terms of immersive experiences, offers an immersion in the conquest of the Spaceship, with NASA archive images and never-before-seen astronaut interviews from the Artemis and Apollo programs. It’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Paris.

M. C. Escher at the Monnaie de Paris
From November 15, 2025, La Monnaie de Paris is transformed into a hypnotic playground where Maurits Cornelis Escher, magician of impossible perspectives, leads us in a breathtaking graphic ballet. This major retrospective , already successfully presented in Toulouse (130,000 visitors), unveils over 150 works by the Dutch genius of optical illusions and impossible constructions for the first time in Paris. Immersive rooms, videos, didactic experiments… A joyful visual chaos not to be missed!

“My Name is Orson Welles” at the Cinémathèque
The Cinémathèque française celebrates the cinema legend with the “My Name is Orson Welles” exhibition. A major event in 2025, it promises to plunge Parisians into the artist’s teeming universe. Until January 11, 2026, prepare to be dazzled by 400 works, including never-before-seen photos, archives and even drawings and sculptures by the artist. The chronological and thematic tour will reveal the secrets behind his masterpieces. As an added bonus, there will also be a complete retrospective of his films – enough to make a Welles marathon! Rendezvous at 51, rue de Bercy for this not-to-be-missed event for film buffs worthy of the name.

Picasso and the Douanier Rousseau (also at the Atelier des Lumières)

The Atelier des Lumières is preparing to celebrate Picasso and the Douanier Rousseau in style in its 2025 program. From February 13, 2025, to January 4, 2026, visitors will be invited to immerse themselves in captivating immersive exhibitions. The exhibition dedicated to Picasso will reveal the breadth of his genius through monumental projections. Echoing this, a more intimate exhibition on Le Douanier Rousseau will transport viewers into a waking dream, exploring his poetic universe and inimitable naive style.

Niki de Saint-Phalle and Jean Tinguely at the Grand Palais
While 2025 will see a host of exhibitions, the major cultural event of the year will be the reopening of the Grand Palais. Once the institution has welcomed a huge ice rink, the first exhibitions will be dedicated to Art Brut, Niki de Saint-Phalle and Jean Tinguely! A date not to be missed!
