Dog lovers dreamed of it, Paris did it! The first museum dedicated to our doggy friends has just opened in Aubervilliers, within the Centrale Canine. A 500 m² space dedicated to dogs, with hundreds of works of art and unusual objects… And the best part? The museum is free all summer long!
Europe’s largest museum dedicated to dogs has just opened in Paris – and it’s 100% free!
You’re not dreaming: you can now bring your beloved dog to the museum! Head for the Musée du chien in Aubervilliers, where our four-legged companions take center stage. Here you’ll find paintings, objets d’art, sculptures, old advertisements, photos and trinkets depicting dogs of all breeds and sizes. Learn more about them and understand the impact they’ve had on our lives through the ages…

Usually open to veterinarians, researchers and canine professionals, Centrale Canine has opened its doors to the general public for the first time with this original museum. In fact, it’s the second largest museum in the world devoted to doggies, after the one in New York! A source of national pride for all dog lovers.

Free of charge until September, the museum is open not only to humans, but also to their four-legged companions (on a leash, of course). Animals will be provided with fresh water bowls and even a small treat at the end of the visit. The icing on the cake is that they’ll be able to play with friends in the caniparc at the dog park. It’s a great way to unwind and make new friends over the course of an afternoon.
