Free funfair showcases Japanese culture in Paris
With cherry blossoms in bloom in Paris, reminiscent of the famous sakura, there’s no better time to discover or rediscover Japanese culture. The Japanese art of living will be in the spotlight this weekend at the Ennichi Festival, presented as a veritable traditional funfair combining crafts, gastronomy and entertainment.
The program begins with a large market of Japanese creations. The stalls offer a myriad of handicrafts, stationery, jewelry, kimonos and groceries. As you stroll through the market, you’ll also be able to enjoy a little tea or sake tasting. And speaking of tastings, you’ll of course be able to enjoy a wide range of Japanese specialties on site. Karaage, karepan, onigiri and more: all the classics of Japanese street food will be on offer.
On the entertainment side, you’ll be able to count on numerous workshops, both culinary and artisanal. From calligraphy to origami and paper weaving, there’ll be plenty to do. And for those with a sweet tooth, you’ll be able to make your own mochi, temari-sushi and onigiri. Finally, the weekend will be punctuated by artistic performances and games of all kinds, once again showcasing the Japanese art of living.
