A cross between a Parisian brasserie and an English pub, this restaurant in the heart of Paris is starting to make a name for itself among the capital’s foodies. With its superb Art Deco decor, both inside and out, this address brings together lovers of fine dining and foodies who come to sample its tempting menu.
Public House: Between an English pub and an Art Deco brasserie
Opened in 2024 in the heart of the Opera district, Public House is the perfect blend of English conviviality and French tradition. A British pub, yes, but with a distinctly Parisian twist. Thanks to Laura Gonzalez’s touch, the venue reveals a true Art Deco identity across three floors. From floor to ceiling, the symmetry, straight lines, and geometric shapes characteristic of the movement are in evidence and blend perfectly with English motifs. Outside, the old-fashioned façade also blends in perfectly with the green balconies.

On the menu, the emphasis is on comfort and generosity. The menu features delicious starters to share, burgers, and tasty British-style pub fare such as beer-braised beef, pork ribs, and the chef’s specialty: a hearty chicken pie served with gravy. In addition to vegetarian options, don’t miss the indulgent pub specials, such as the famous Welsh rarebit.
Public House has also recently started offering a hearty brunch for €29.50. Every Sunday from 11:30 a.m., the feast begins, featuring fresh fruit juice, hot drinks, pastries, and a choice of main course and dessert, including avocado toast, eggs Benedict, pancakes, and French toast.

And to top it all off, Public House is also known for housing the Divine House Basement Bar, the most British of Parisian speakeasies. Hidden under a staircase straight out of the 1970s, this bar with its tartan motifs is the little touch that makes the establishment even more special.
With its gourmet menu, Art Deco decor, brunch, and speakeasy, Public House ticks all the boxes for a great place to visit!
