The Eiffel Tower is closed! Part of the monument is currently undergoing maintenance and renovation work! Visitors will be able to enjoy the Iron Lady in its entirety again from February 8, 2025.
Partial closure of the Eiffel Tower
Had you planned to visit the Eiffel Tower in the coming weeks, to climb up to the 3rd floor and enjoy its breathtaking view over Paris? Unfortunately, you won’t be able to make your wish come true, at least not any time soon. The Iron Lady is currently undergoing a major renovation and can only welcome visitors up to the second floor. Since January 6, 2025, the top of the monument has been under construction! The 3rd and final floor will be open to the public again from February 8!
Maintenance and renovation work at the summit
This month-long closure at the very beginning of the year is not exceptional. This monument, one of the capital’s most visited, is the focus of much attention, and regularly undergoes major renovation work. Since 2022, the top of the Eiffel Tower has been closed once a year to allow technical teams to carry out the necessary refurbishment work!
At an altitude of 300m, the top floor of the Tower is particularly exposed to the force of the wind… Rain, hail, thunderstorms, snow, cold temperatures and even the sun quickly cause the top of the monument to deteriorate faster than the rest of the structure.
The work, which will take place from January 6 to February 7, 2025 (inclusive), will affect floors, radiators, staircases, sanitary facilities and lighting, among other things! Finally, as essential equipment, the elevators will also be overhauled for safety and performance reasons!
Closure of the Eiffel Tower summit does not mean total closure! During the month-long works, visitors will still be able to access the 1st and 2nd floors of the Iron Lady and take in the sights of Paris from heights of 57 and 115 metres respectively!
