Good news for our canine friends ! Parc Monceau is opening up 2,000 m² of the park to our dogs throughout the summer and until next October. Accessible for free all day long, this area allows dogs to stretch their legs off-leash and play with other dogs from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. A great step forward for animal welfare, an area that has long been neglected…
A dog park within Parc Monceau
This is a first for Parc Monceau! For the first time, a 2,000-square-meter dog park has opened within one of Paris’s most upscale parks. Behind this initiative is the Monceau Dog Club collective, whose efforts convinced the 8th arrondissement city hall to pilot this project! While last year’s initial trial in the park proved successful, this year the rules are changing.

This fenced-in area, open all day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., lets dogs burn off energy freely while staying separate from walkers and joggers. A dog trainer is also on site to supervise interactions and offer advice to owners every morning of the week. Of course, for everyone’s comfort, this dog park must be cleaned up after each dog’s waste.
If this trial proves successful once again, the 8th arrondissement city hall promises to evaluate the long-term viability of this initiative. This is good news for dog owners and their pups, who will be able to enjoy a beautiful, shaded area all summer long and find some relief from the heat during heat waves.
