Watching a film in the courtyard of a Parisian museum at dusk, surrounded by Belle Époque architecture and figures in period costumes: this is the program the Palais Galliera is preparing for the return of its “Galliera fait son cinéma” festival. The event will return from June 11 to 13, 2026, for a fifth edition organized in conjunction with the exhibition “18th-Century Fashion: A Fantasized Heritage.”
The Palais Galliera’s outdoor cinema makes its return
For three evenings, the courtyard of the Paris Fashion Museum will be transformed into an open-air screening venue. Before each screening, visitors will also have free access to the exhibition starting at 8 p.m., followed by an introduction led by an expert. A program that blends cinema, fashion history, and heritage in one of the most beautiful settings in the 16th arrondissement.
The program has been designed around the 18th century and its imagery. On Thursday, June 11, the festival will open with Lady Oscar, a cult adaptation inspired by the French Revolution. The following day, it’s time for Dangerous Liaisons, before a final evening on June 13 with Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Céline Sciamma’s film that has become a landmark of contemporary French cinema.

As for prices, tickets will cost €17 for full price, €15 for reduced price, and €8 for certain eligible individuals. The ticket includes access to both the exhibition and the screening. Reservations are required, and there will be no on-site ticket sales.
While open-air cinemas are beginning to reappear throughout Paris starting in June, Galliera is opting for a more intimate and heritage-focused approach. It’s a rather elegant way to experience a film differently, somewhere between a museum visit and a screening under the stars.
