Do you know Ciné Junior? It’s France’s biggest film festival for young audiences! And for its 35th edition, at the end of January/beginning of February, it will be taking place in some sixty cinemas and cultural venues in the Paris region!
Ciné Junior, the film festival for young audiences
Young audiences (children aged 2 and over and teenagers) have their own film festival! Created in 1991 to provide a showcase and a space for expression for this segment of the 7th art, Ciné Junior attracts over 50,000 spectators every year, budding youngsters and adults alike, who come to enjoy a rich program of some one hundred films! With screenings in 7 departments of the Île-de-France region and some forty towns and cities, these “close to home” screenings also aim to facilitate access to the cinema for youngsters and families!
An emotional 35th edition
This year, let your emotions flow! Fear, joy, anger, sadness or laughter… the festival invites audiences to share them in front of this year’s short and feature-length films! As with the grown-ups, Ciné Junior also offers films in competition!
Feature-length films, animated films and a program of shorts (from age 2), there’s something for every taste… and every emotion! Cult films such as Merlin the Enchanter and The Great Dictator will be shown alongside more recent works such as Marcel le Coquillage. There will also be Japanese animation with Mary and the Witch’s Flower and Pompoko, ciné-concerts, ciné-ombre and workshops!
The list of participating cinemas and venues is long. In Paris, you’ll find the Studio des Ursulines, Chaplin Denfert, Chaplin Saint Lambert and Cinéma Les 7 Batignolles! And don’t forget, Ciné Junior is also coming to Pantin, Montreuil, Bagnolet, Villejuif and Maisons-Alfort (take a look, there’s bound to be a screening near you!).
