Ah, the frenzy of Parisian bistros! In the capital, these friendly, authentic establishments embody the French art of living. In fact, at Paris Secret, we’ve put together a list of our favorite bistros. But let’s get back to business. What would you say to a taste of good local cuisine, at an unbeatable price? That’s the concept behind this brand-new bistro, whose name immediately sets the tone: 6.90. And it’s probably the cheapest bistro in Paris!
6.90, the cheapest bistro in Paris? Find out why everyone’s talking about it
Its name is on everyone’s lips. Right now, gourmets can’t stop talking about the opening of bistrot 6.90 on Wednesday March 26. The concept is simple, with no fuss: eat for 6 euros 90. The à la carte menu features a single dish at a low price. Behind this idea for a cheap (and short-lived) Parisian bistro is Jade Frommer, head of a small, immersive culinary empire. Gourmets will no doubt recognize Ephemera as a group of restaurants like no other, whose mission is to transport customers into the jungle, into space and even under the ocean. But this time, there’s a change of scenery.
For this new concept, Jade Frommer has swapped immersive scenography for red and white checkered tablecloths. On the plates: a unique traditional dish, which generally appeals to everyone. Right now, it’s one of Bouillons Parisiens ‘ most popular comfort dishes: the famous sausage-purée. Here, everything is homemade, and the low price on the menu doesn’t exclude the quality of the products – quite the contrary. On the plates, you’ll find a knife-fed sausage from Aveyron (100% pure French pork), accompanied by its homemade purée and poultry jus simmered for 8 hours. So, while the unique dish is bound to change, the price will always remain the same: 6.90 euros!
6.90 euros for the sausage and mashed potato. “At that price, we’ve put everything into the sausage!”
And if the menu at Bistrot 6.90 is brief, that’s because it’s designed to focus on the essentials. And the essentials are quality, with fresh, seasonal produce. And the price, because we’ve had enough of hefty restaurant bills in Paris. In fact, the 6.90 price tag, with its touch of French humour, is a real treat: “at this price, we’ve put everything into the sausage!
The concept is well thought-out, since the drinks are also ultra attractively priced. There are three choices: soft drinks for €1.90, beer for €3.90 and a glass of white or red wine for €3.90. The best part? A homemade chocolate mousse, made to grandma’s old (secret) recipe. The crazy price of this regressive, comforting dessert? Just €2.90, more than enough to compete with Bouillons Parisiens’ chocolate mousses!

With its unprecedented value for money, the new table 6.90 is sure to make our mouths water. It’s happening at 3 rue Poissonnière in the 2nd arrondissement, from March 26 to June 30 exactly. And after the sausage purée, a new dish will take center stage, in exactly 21 days. The countdown is on! So, ready to treat yourself to a good slice, tasting a good bistro dish without emptying your wallet?
