Every year, when the windows of the Grands Magasins are decked out in their finest luminous finery and the fir trees are lit up in the streets of Paris, the illuminations on the Champs-Élysées complete the capital’s enchantment. But this year, what colors will the 400 trees on the world’s most beautiful avenue be draped in? Will the Avenue des Champs-Élysées return to its long red and blue mantle, or will there be a new show in store? We reveal all that awaits you for the 2025 edition… and you’re in for a surprise!
A unique sound and light show, an exceptional light ballet… a world first on the Champs-Élysées!
In the run-up to the festive season, the Champs-Élysées avenue is constantly renewing itself. Its challenge: to amaze again and again. And this year, sound joins light to create a veritable “Stereophony”. An exceptional lighting design by Thomas Dechandon, with a composition by Victor Le Masne, reinvents the lighting experience in a spectacular way.
For Christmas 2025, for the first time ever, a never-before-seen ballet of light will take to the skies over Paris. A total of 430,000 multicolored pixels will illuminate the trees of the world’s most beautiful avenue. The famous avenue will be transformed into an open-air stage, stretching for almost 4 km. What’s more, each LED will be individually controllable, creating dynamic variations and animated garlands with different color moods.
Another major novelty: on the counter-alleys, a ceiling of luminous braids will link the trees on either side, offering walkers an unparalleled immersive experience along the Avenue.
When can you enjoy the show?
Every day, a new show, designed by Blachere Illuminations, will start at 5:00 pm. The daily show will end at midnight, except on Fridays and Saturdays, when it will continue until 1am. Exceptionally, on December 24 and 31, the show will go on all night long. Like the Eiffel Tower, the avenue will sparkle for five minutes every full hour (6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm, 10pm and 11pm), echoing the Tower’s light show. The Iron Lady will seem to respond to the most beautiful avenue in the world…
Léa Seydoux and Charlotte Cardin to light up the inauguration evening
For this latest edition, the Comité des Champs-Élysées has chosen actress Léa Seydoux, “James Bond girl” and icon of independent cinema, as its godmother. On the world’s most beautiful avenue, she will kick off the illuminations this Sunday, November 16. “To be the godmother of the Christmas Illuminations on the Champs-Élysées and to share this magical moment with Paris, my hometown, is an immense honor”, she confided.
For the occasion, Léa Seydoux will be accompanied by Charlotte Cardin, who will perform a few songs exclusively for the Champs-Élysées public, ahead of her European tour in 2026.
For Christmas, a Swarovski pop-up store lights up the Champs-Élysées
As a sponsor of the event and celebrating its 130th anniversary, Swarovski will take pride of place at the heart of the Champs-Élysées illuminations each evening, in a golden loop. As an aside, a pop-up store will be set up at 1, place Charles de Gaulle, offering crystal lovers the chance to discover Swarovski’s collections of jewelry and decorative objects in a refined setting, a symbol of brilliance, expertise and innovation.
📅 See you this Sunday, November 16, from 6.30pm, for the kick-off of the Champs-Élysées illuminations.
And speaking of multicolored light ballet on the Champs-Elysées, here’s an event you’re sure to love: Ballet of Lights. This time, the venue is not the most beautiful avenue in the world, but the MPAA Saint-Germain or the Théâtre du Gymnase Marie-Bell . On December 10, 21 and 22, this colorful, magical ballet will showcase Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, in more modern versions of each tale… A feast for the eyes!
