If Manet’s Déjeuner sur l’Herbe makes you dream and perhaps gives you a sense of nostalgia for an era you never knew, we’ve found the perfect outing for you. In Chambourcy, an idyllic Impressionist-themed picnic will be held on Sunday September 8 in the Parc André Derain. All you have to do is register, bring your tablecloth and your little recipes stored in your wicker basket!
A magical picnic with an Impressionist theme
Summer may be drawing to a close, but it’s not yet time to say goodbye to our favorite outings. So for this early September weekend, we’re heading for the Yvelines, whose history is closely linked to Impressionism, to take part in an idyllic picnic. The date is set for September 8, in the heart of the parc André Derain de Chambourcy. In this verdant setting, you’ll be able to take part in a moment as convivial as it is gourmet, bringing together dozens of guests.
Whether you’re an art lover, a 19th-century enthusiast or just looking for a little epicurean fun, this looks like the perfect outing. And if you want to push the immersion all the way, you can even dress up in the style of the period.
It’s to mark the 150 years of Impressionism that this life-size Déjeuner sur l’Herbe is being held. As part of this celebration, the whole department is celebrating, and we’re also looking forward to the Lumières impressionnistes festival, which will be held at the same time in Chatou. A magical stopover not to be missed after digestion.
