When it comes to museums in Paris, the Louvre is often on everyone’s lips. But let’s not forget the magnificent Musée d’Orsay! A former railway station converted into a museum, it is now the third most visited museum in France. It houses the largest collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings in the world! But today, we’d like to tell you all about its secret café: Café Campana. A spectacular place that plunges you into a unique dream world.
A magnificent café hidden in a museum: le Campana

After a fascinating cultural tour of the museum, it’s time for a well-deserved break. So head to the 5ᵉ floor, just past the Impressionist gallery, to discover a magical place: the Café Campana. Located opposite one of the Musée d’Orsay‘s masterful interior clocks, you’ll feel like you’ve been propelled into a film set. This “onirico-aquatic” setting, directly inspired by Art Nouveau and Emile Gallé, the famous French cabinetmaker, will blow your mind. Everything from the glittering chandeliers to the coral-shaped seats will evoke the beautiful, colorful and mysterious world of the sea.

This veritable voyage of the senses continues right through to the menu, celebrating modern cuisine inspired by the flavors of the world: simmered vegetable tagine or creamy risotto at lunchtime, Parisian flan at snack time… Each dish is carefully concocted to delight your taste buds.
Open every day except Monday, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., this café-restaurant offers absolutely divine hot dishes, served non-stop from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please note that this café is only open to visitors to the Musée d’Orsay.
