If you don’t like overly crowded places and you ‘re into charming spots that you’d like to keep to yourself, then we can tell you that you’ve found THE gem. Abstinence is a wine bar that, at first glance, looks a bit like all the others. Except that this one stands out for its bistronomic dishes, executed to perfection. A friendly place where food and wine go hand in hand, and where dishes are shared with gusto.
Abstinence: one of the best wine bars in Paris
In a tasteful setting, the first thing that strikes you is the magnificent central bar. This is where the magic happens. Around fifty wines, mainly French, are available on the menu. These are carefully selected for their character and subtle notes, and pair perfectly with your dishes.

As for the food, it’s an explosion of flavors in your mouth. The menu has been completely revamped to reflect the spirit of the house, and is now fresher and sunnier. In addition, each product is sourced locally. But the icing on the cake is the concept of the meal itself , where conviviality is the watchword. You can opt for several dishes to share: starter, main course, dessert… Good food is meant to be shared!
We loved the sea bass carpaccio delicately drizzled with lemon juice, and the roasted cabbage steak with light yogurt cream. Meat lovers will salivate with pleasure as they share a gargantuan 1.3 kg rib of beef for two. Finally, when it comes to dessert, if we had to choose just two, we highly recommend trying the warm tarte tatin or the chocolate mousse. A tribute to childhood that perfectly rounds off the meal.

Whether seated under its beautiful glass roof or on the terrace when the sun comes out at lunchtime, Abstinence is a welcoming place that deserves to be known. One of our latest favorites, it could well win over your loved one on Valentine’s Day…
