On September 23, the highly reputable 2026 Park World Excellence Awardsannounced this year’s list of winners. Among them was Nigloland, located in the Aude department. This nearly 40-year-old amusement park was crowned the world’s best regional park!
The best regional amusement park in the world… is in the Aude department!
Against all expectations, it is indeed Nigloland, located in Dolancourt, that has won this prestigious award. This family-friendly park will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2027 and welcomes approximately 750,000 visitors each year.
Completely unknown to most Parisians, Nigloland was created by a family-run business for families and stands out in particular for its immersive, high-quality settings. What’s more, its attractions appeal to both young and old alike, making it one of the most popular amusement parks in the region! It is, in fact,the only French park to have received an award this year!
By way of comparison, Disneyland Paris was on the shortlist for an entirely different category this year: “Green Initiative.” Unfortunately, another park took home the award.
