Even though summer is drawing to a close, there’s no question of saying goodbye to our beautiful outdoor outings. As long as temperatures allow and the sun isn’t shy, there are plenty of escapades to choose from around the capital. To cool off and do some sport, we’ll be turning to one of them: we’ve named the le de loisirs du Val de Seine, which promises an activity-packed outing!
A sandy beach just a train ride from Paris
Work up a sweat with a great sporting activity, or just bask in the sun? Why choose when you can go to one of the capital’s many leisure islands? After the lac de Jablines or the base de loisirs de Cergy, we’re once again heading for one of these refreshing little destinations on the edge of the capital. This time, we’re heading for the Yvelines and, more specifically, Verneuil-sur-Seine, where the Val de Seine leisure island, our destination for this getaway, is based.
First, let’s talk about the beautiful beach around which the island is built. While swimming is permitted from May to August, it’s still possible to put your towel down on the sand or grass for the rest of the year, and therefore, treat yourself to a good sunbath, for a small entrance fee. The entry fee also gives you access to equipment, ball games or petanque, so there’s no need to come loaded!
More than just a small beach, this is a real marina, where you can enjoy water sports, pedal boating and even fishing. But beyond aquatic activities, the on-site facilities also allow you to indulge in numerous sports. Mini-golf, horse-riding and tennis are just some of the activities on offer.
So if you’re looking for an unusual outing just a short train ride from the capital, a place to cool off or do some sport, this is the place for you!
