Don’t be surprised if, starting tonight, your transfer is delayed or simply cannot be processed… In fact, all banks in France will have to close exceptionally for four consecutive days. You will therefore be unable to make or receive any interbank transfers… Those awaiting a transfer will simply have to be patient…
Transfers will be suspended for four days for all banks in France (and even in Europe)
This is news that won’t please everyone… Starting this Thursday evening at 6 p.m. and through Monday, April 6, no money transfers from one bank account to another will be possible in France or in European countries. Whether you need to send or receive money, please be aware that everything will be on hold until Tuesday morning, April 7, when your request will finally be processed.

This exceptional situation is due to the shutdown of the Target 2 system, used by most countries that use the euro as their currency. In addition to France, about twenty countries will be affected during these four days. While most companies and social service agencies have already scheduled transfers for their employees or beneficiaries (child support, retirees, the unemployed, etc.), it is possible that other transfers may be delayed and won’t appear in your account until next Tuesday…
A block that can be bypassed… under certain conditions

However, it will still be possible to make some transfers despite these restrictions. Instant transfers, which operate via a different system, will be available, as will standard transfers made within the same bank. Nevertheless, take precautions and plan ahead if possible!
