Ten years on… The attacks of November 13 have left an indelible mark on our history. 130 dead, over a hundred injured, and lives forever marked… To pay tribute to all the victims and never forget them, a number of events will be held throughout the week in Paris. Ceremonies, exhibitions, musical tributes… here’s the program:
A time of meditation at Place de la République

Until Sunday, Paris City Hall is encouraging all citizens to place a candle or a flower at the foot of the statue in Place de la République. It’s a fitting way to pay tribute to the victims, their bereaved families and the heroes who intervened on that day. Giant screens will also be set up for live coverage of the commemoration.
A free exhibition a few meters away will plunge visitors into the Paris of the days following the attacks, focusing on the outpouring of fraternity and solidarity.
Several commemorative exhibitions in Paris
The Archives de Paris is launching an exhibition entitled “Je suis Paris” (I am Paris), bringing together a wealth of personal accounts of the attacks. Similarly, on the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville, you can discover the free exhibition “Face au terrorisme, une mémoire citoyenne”. It features photos, documents and a series of items that will be exhibited at the future Musée Mémorial du Terrorisme. The Musée Carnavalet will give this tribute a more artistic dimension, with works created during these tragic events, as well as a selection of anonymous tributes.
A memorial garden inaugurated on November 13

Just a stone’s throw from Paris City Hall, a magnificent garden will be inaugurated on November 13. Called the “November 13th Garden”, this memorial green space was designed by victims’ associations. The structure of the garden is based on the plans of the six sites affected by the attacks. A strong symbol of resilience and life, flowers and perennials will flourish in this small green space open to all.
