Every year, the city bets on a major outdoor festive event, mainly concentrated around the Champs-Élysées, which has become the heart of the December 31st celebrations. In 2025, as in previous years, the main event will take place on this emblematic avenue, with a free show and the famous fireworks display!
New Year’s Eve festivities in Paris
On December 31, 2025, Paris will concentrate most of its New Year’s celebrations along the Champs-Élysées avenue, around the Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde. Contrary to popular belief, there will be no fireworks from the Eiffel Tower, and no live concerts on the Champs-Élysées.
Instead, a monumental light show will be projected onto the façade of the Arc de Triomphe in the evening, creating a unique and immersive visual ambiance before the passage to the New Year. Then comes the long-awaited moment. As the clock strikes midnight, a spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky from the heart of the Champs-Élysées, at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe. According to the city,“the fireworks will start with a total white flash, followed by a surge of golden, silver and blue lights” and will be accompanied by a 100% feminine playlist before giving way to John Lennon’s legendary song Imagine.
To take full advantage of the fireworks and associated show, we recommend arriving early in the evening, as the areas around the historic monument will fill up quickly. Access is free, but some parts of the perimeter may be controlled for security reasons, and several metro and RER stations near the Champs-Élysées will be closed or restricted in the afternoon and evening of December 31.
Access will be via
From the south: avenue Montaigne and avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt
From the north: avenue Matignon and avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt
From the east: place de la Concorde
