On the night of December 31, 2025, several metro and RER lines in Paris will remain in service without interruption, with free access on most of the network to facilitate travel between parties and homeward journeys.
To celebrate the transition to 2026, public transport in Paris is adapting specially for that evening. As every year, RATP and Île-de-France Mobilités are maintaining a full night service from December 31 to January 1, so that partygoers can return home by metro or RER after the celebrations.
Which metro, RER and bus lines will be open on the night of December 31st?
In concrete terms, several metro lines, notably lines 1, 2, 4, 6, 9 and 14, will continue to run throughout the night of New Year’s Eve, serving numerous stations throughout the event. At the same time, RER lines A, B, C, D and E will also be in service, covering a large part of the Paris region as far as the suburbs. As for buses, the Noctilien lines will also be in service, as usual, providing even greater coverage on New Year’s Eve.
This exceptional operation will be in effect from the afternoon of December 31st (around 5pm) until midday on January 1st 2026 for the majority of the network, with the exception of connections to airports, which may remain under special fares.
