An unwelcome surprise for regular riders of the T3a tram line as the All Saints’ Day school break begins. Since Monday, October 26, trams have not been running on a section of the line in southeast Paris. The service interruption is scheduled to last seven days, through Sunday, November 1, and affects the section between Stade Charléty and Porte d’Ivry.
The RATP is taking advantage of this period to carry out track renovations. The work primarily involves replacing the rails between Porte d’Italie and Poterne des Peupliers, two stations located in the 13th arrondissement. Work began on October 19 and is scheduled to continue through November 6, but tram service will be suspended in this section from October 26 through November 1.
Five T3a stations affected by the service interruption

Passengers who usually take the T3a between Stade Charléty and Porte d’Ivry will need to adjust their routes. Three intermediate stops will not be served by trains this week: Poterne des Peupliers, Porte d’Italie, and Porte de Choisy. However, the rest of the T3a line will continue to operate, between Pont du Garigliano and Stade Charléty on one end, and between Porte d’Ivry and Porte de Vincennes on the other.
To ensure passengers are not left without transportation options, the RATP is providing replacement buses serving the stations affected by the suspension. Passengers who usually travel to Porte d’Italie or Porte de Choisy may also consider taking Metro Line 7, depending on their destination. At Porte de Choisy, the T9 tram remains another option for trips to the southern part of the Île-de-France region.
Service is scheduled to resume along the entire T3a line starting Monday, November 2, provided the work proceeds as planned. To check the current service status before heading out, the RATP updates information on its official website.
