Forget about cards laid out around a table. For Halloween, the famous Werewolf game takes on a whole new dimension in Paris. From October 26 to November 1, La Meute is opening its sessions to the general public for a special event in the vaulted cellars hidden beneath Île Saint-Louis. On the agenda: up to 36 players, secret roles, actors, and above all, just one rule… trust no one.
Werewolf leaves the table to come to life beneath Paris
We’re all more or less familiar with the concept. A village, a few werewolves hidden among the residents, and accusations that can quickly shatter a friendship. With *La Meute*, the game takes on a whole new dimension.
No impromptu circle in a living room. The game takes place in real vaulted cellars beneath Île Saint-Louis, just a few steps from Notre-Dame. As soon as you arrive, you step into the story: you’ll be given a cloak, a secret role, and a mission before joining the other players.
Up to 36 participants can take part in the same game. Some belong to the brotherhood charged with protecting the area. Others have slipped in among them with far less reassuring intentions.
From there, everything hinges on bluffing, alliances, and your ability to convince others that, no, of course, you have absolutely nothing to hide.
For one week, private games will be open to everyone
That’s exactly what makes this special Halloween edition so interesting. The rest of the year, La Meute operates primarily by reservation for private groups and corporate events.
But from October 26 to November 1, the rules change. For one week only, the sessions will be open to the general public. So you can come alone, as a couple, or with a few friends and join a game with people you don’t know.
And ultimately, playing surrounded by strangers might just add a little more spice to the experience. When no one knows each other, it’s hard to tell who’s just acting… and who’s actually part of the Pack
The game doesn’t necessarily end when your character is eliminated. Players who’ve been eliminated can continue to influence the story through the Council of Spirits. That way, you can avoid those long minutes of watching others have fun without you.

A Beast slumbers beneath Île Saint-Louis
“La Meute” doesn’t simply follow the rules of the board game. The experience has its own story, conceived as a blend of Werewolf, Murder Party, and immersive theater.
In the Parisian basements, a mysterious brotherhood watches over a creature called the Beast. The goal of this experiment is to keep it from waking up, and the only problem is the traitors hiding within the group who are there to sabotage the mission.
Actors accompany the game and drive the plot forward while the players discuss, lie, accuse one another, and try to unmask their opponents.
There’s also no need to memorize three pages of dialogue before coming. The story unfolds right there on the spot, as the participants interact with one another. At the end of the game, some players will have to face the Beast.
For Halloween, it’s hard to find a more fitting setting than the cellars hidden beneath one of Paris’s most iconic islands.
