Imagine this: the Swiss mountains roll by all around you, a little train chugs quietly along the tracks, and right in front of you, the cheese is melting. Just a few hours from Paris, this experience—as unlikely as it is comforting—has become a real phenomenon on social media.
It took some imagination: turning one of Switzerland’s most iconic dishes into a rail journey. Head to Le Bouveret, in the canton of Valais, on the shores of Lake Geneva. It’s here, at Swiss Vapeur Parc—an amazing miniature railroad park—that an incredible Raclette Train is tucked away, setting social media ablaze.
A little train, mountains, and melted cheese

On board, there’s no conductor or traditional dining car, of course. Here, passengers settle in around small tables set up right inside the cars and enjoy their raclette while the train moves along at just 4 km/h.
The train winds its way through tunnels, over bridges, past bodies of water, and through miniature scenery, with the mountains as a backdrop. Up to 14 people can take a seat aboard for this quirky rail adventure where the focus is on taking your time. An unusual experience—halfway between a mountain dinner and a trip down memory lane—and easily accessible for a short getaway from Paris.
Is the Raclette Train about to dethrone… *Frozen*?

And clearly, the concept is melting much more than just cheese. A video of the Raclette Train posted on Instagram has gone completely viral, racking up about 9.3 million views.
That’s a staggering number, coming very close to an unexpected record: a post from Disneyland Paris dedicated to *Frozen*, which has racked up about 9.7 million views.
And when you see the pictures, you quickly understand why. With mountain scenery, a mini-train, and all-you-can-eat melted cheese, the experience checks just about every box for the unlikely winter getaway you’d immediately want to try.
And with such success, it’s finally time to make a big deal out of it.
