It was the cultural event many of you were looking forward to… The very first Pigalle Carnival was originally scheduled to take place this Saturday, September 26. But unfortunately, it has been canceled. In fact, Pope Leo XIV’s special visit to Paris has put an end to it for this year. Instead, the organizers are still planning a surprise at Square d’Anvers!
The Pigalle Carnival Canceled
Scheduled to take place between Pigalle and Les Abbesses, the very first Pigalle Carnival has ultimately been canceled. The reason? The arrival of Pope Leo XIV, which inevitably requires an ultra-reinforced safety net.
So no, you won’t necessarily get the parade you’d been dreaming of—with flamboyant costumes, circus performers, and imaginary plant creatures —but you’ll still get your consolation prize at Square d’Anvers. From 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the public is invitedto dress up and take part in this mini-version of the future carnival, postponed until spring 2027. On the program: a mini-parade, a DJ set, costumes, and festive dancing! And of course, admission is 100% free.
