For the first time ever, Pigalle will have its own carnival! The neighborhood, straddling the 18th and 9th arrondissements, will host a grand, artistic, and participatory parade in late September: the Pigalle Carnival. Conceived as part of the Montmartre Festival, this completely free event will have you dreaming!

Paris’s most festive neighborhood simply had to have its own carnival! For this very first edition, get ready for an explosion of colors! The theme “Forest and Photosynthesis” will feature street performers, dancers, and musicians, all dressed as fantastical plant or animal creatures. An ode to nature and daydreaming, led by the Fanfare des P’tits Poulbots.
Parisians should see an unlikely, colorful, and lively “forest” “sprout”on the Parisian cobblestones for the duration of a timeless afternoon. Here’s another piece of news that’s sure to delight many: the carnival is designed to be participatory. The Mouvement Montmartre association, which organized the event, is issuing an open call to anyone who wants to march in costume and join the festivities. The program is still being finalized, and a few surprises might be added between now and fall.
Free, open to everyone, and deeply rooted in the neighborhood’s life, the Pigalle Carnival is shaping up to be a new must-see event on the Parisian cultural calendar! And we can’t wait to see it!
