In just a few years, he has become one of the most unpredictable DJs on the global electronic music scene. ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U —whose real name is Yousuke Yukimatsu—will be at the Centquatre-Paris on Saturday, March 13, 2027, for an exceptional show presented by the Super! collective, with the opening act yet to be announced. Tickets go on sale September 18, priced at €36.26—a steal for an artist of this caliber!
Yousuke Yukimatsu: The DJ Who Defies Labels
Born in 1979 in Osaka and based in Tokyo since 2020, Yousuke Yukimatsu has made a name for himself through his mastery of the mix and his ability to blend genres that are polar opposites. Techno, breakbeat, IDM, ambient, house, acid, industrial, noise, hip-hop: in his sets, there are no limits. It’s not uncommon to hear him slip a heavy metal track into the middle of an electronic set, or to wrap up a performance with aclassic Japanese ambient piece.
This instinctive approach—built in the moment rather than planned in advance—has earned him a reputation far beyond Japan’s borders. His Boiler Room set ranks among the most-viewed in the platform’s history, and his performance at Hör Berlin surpassed 21,000 views in just two days.
Spotted by DJ Nobu: From Osaka to the International Stage
His career has long been that of an outsider. He cut his teeth in the underground scenes of Osaka and Kobe while working in construction, before a turning point came in 2014: techno producer DJ Nobu, impressed by one of his sets, invited him to play at his Future Terror party in Tokyo. That was the turning point that firmly established him among the elite of the Japanese club scene.
Since then, he has performed three consecutive years at Berlin Atonal, played at festivals such as Lollapalooza Brazil, and is part of the Asian Dope Boys collective’s long-term performance installations.
