On stage, the duo of dancers will express their deepest intimacy, twirling and intertwining to the rhythm of traditional tango pieces. This spellbinding art form crosses the Atlantic to enchant audiences at ” We Call It Tango ” in Paris.
For the next few months, the Salle Jacques Higelin, MPAA will be hosting these magical tango dance performances. Guided by the melodies of a talented pianist and a traditional bandoneon player(the emblematic instrument of Tango), these shows are evenings of spellbinding Argentine music and dance, not to be missed.
What is “We Call It Tango”?
“We Call It Tango” is a breathtaking show that tells the story of Amelia, a young dancer living in Palermo in the 1950s. In the course of three spellbinding numbers, 13 famous tangos will be performed by professional dancers. Expect to see planeos(a circular leg movement), amagues(side-to-side kicks), lustradas(rubbing your foot along your partner’s leg) and many other authentic tango dance moves.

At “We Call It Tango”, authentic tango songs such as Mariano Mores ‘ ” Taquito Militar ” andAstor Piazzolla ‘s ” Adiós Nonino ” will be performed by a talented pianist and a traditional bandoneon player. And while these musicians work their magic on stage, a duo of dancers will unveil the treasures of this dance before your very eyes.

Each show lasts 60 minutes, and doors open 30 minutes before the show begins. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis for each section, and late entry is not permitted.
