In 2024, this place in France is a must-see
Every year, Time Magazine, famous the world over for its rankings and other portraits, reveals its list of the world’s most beautiful places to visit. And for the 2024 vintage, we were once again treated to 100 out-of-the-ordinary addresses, ranging from exciting destinations to architectural marvels and little curiosities. And among these 100 unusual spots is a French address, none other than the Maison Rabelais, a charming hotel in the heart of the town of Amboise.
A former boarding school, infirmary during the First World War and retirement home, this unusual place lived a thousand lives before being transformed into a 4-star hotel last April. With numerous rooms, a spa and a swimming pool, it’s perfect for a delightful stay just a few hundred kilometers from Paris. But what really caught Time’s eye was its extreme proximity to the magnificent Château Royal d’Amboise (just an 8-minute walk). Freshly renovated, this incredible Renaissance edifice, Leonardo da Vinci’s last home, now shines brightly after the major renovation.
So, for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Paris, you know what to do and where to stay!
