In Paris, tarot has been part of the cultural landscape for centuries, and comedy clubs are popping up on every street corner. Twisted Tarot falls somewhere in between. This new experience brings together a real tarot reader and a comedian who improvises live—with no safety net—in response to the cards’ revelations.
In an intimate setting, sipping a drink, the audience witnesses genuine tarot readings… with a palpable tension in the room, as anyone could be the next to take the stage. It’s neither an esoteric evening nor a simple stand-up comedy show. Twisted Tarot offers an experience in Paris where the most serious tarot readings are paired with a comedian’s completely spontaneous humor.

What is Twisted Tarot?
Twisted Tarot is a 60-minute show that blends tarot readings and stand-up comedy. On stage, a genuine practitioner conducts readings with volunteers, while a comedian reacts live, without a prepared script. The appeal of the show lies precisely in this contrast: one takes the cards very seriously, while the other improvises as the revelations unfold.
Several full readings punctuate the evening, supplemented by quicker readings based on a single question and a single card. Since volunteers come forward throughout the performance, the audience (and therefore you) is involved from start to finish. Anyone may be called upon to participate, which keeps the suspense going throughout the show.
Why is tarot at the heart of the experience?
Tarot has long been used as a tool for reflection and introspection. For some, the arcana offer a way to explore a situation from a different angle. For others, they’re simply a starting point for conversation. Whatever your approach, it’s this element of uncertainty that fuels every performance.
At Twisted Tarot, nothing is scripted in advance. The reader discovers the cards as the spread unfolds, while the comedian crafts his reactions on the spot through improvisation. Each session therefore unfolds differently depending on the volunteers, the exchanges, and the cards that appear.
The experience lasts about an hour and includes one drink, with bar service available throughout the performance. It is intended for an adult audience.
