Cocktail lovers beware. In the heart of the festive Rue Princesse, in Paris’s 6th arrondissement, nestles a gin bar called Tiger. In this urban setting, with its lush jungle decor and hushed ambience, a team of passionate bartenders and mixologists are bringing gin up to date with a menu of over 130 varieties of gin, to be drunk as a cocktail or accompanied by a house tonic. In all, there are over 1014 possible Gin Tonic combinations!
Tiger: Paris’s first gin bar
The adventure began with a deep passion for the art of gin. Inspired by the richness of this drink, creating a cosmopolitan venue celebrating its history and evolution was a no-brainer for the Coolangatta group.
Much more than a cocktail bar, it’s the capital’s first gin bar. As you’ll have gathered, the king of the jungle here is the juniper spirit created in the Netherlands. It’s here in all its guises, in signature creations with mischievous names, like the speakeasy decor inspired by a tropical forest: Bissap Rocky, The Notorious, Tiny Peat, Salato Negroni. .. Although it’s also (mostly) found in its purest form to get the full essence, with a homemade tonic you’ll be telling us all about. And don’t worry, if you don’t like gin, Le Tiger also offers tasty cocktail creations with other spirits.
Its original facade, entirely covered with plants, beckons and invites you to enter. Inside, thesophisticated exotic decor underlines the unique ambience of this temple to gin, with its turquoise mosaic tiles, palm-leaf patterned wallpaper and sapphire-blue banquettes – soft as can be – where you can sit back and sip delicious handcrafted cocktails accompanied by sharing plates, specially designed to complement the subtle notes of the gin.
But that’s not all. As night falls, the temperature rises, and the mood swings to the rhythm of fiery DJ sets. Avec ses trois espaces distincts, tous privatisables, le lieu est un véritable appel à la fête. If you’re looking to escape the monotony of Parisian bars, think Tiger. You’ll come to immerse yourself in the world of gin, of course, but you’ll stay for the atmosphere, the conviviality and that little touch of the exotic that makes all the difference.
