The scene of sometimes surreal scenes, the capital has its share of curiosities every day. And the first onlookers are, of course, Parisians. So one Reddit user had the good idea of asking them what was the craziest thing they’d seen in the capital’s spans. What followed was an anthology of anecdotes, each more outlandish than the last. We share our best finds with you.
Parisians’ worst anecdotes about Paris
Earlier in the year, scouring the r/paris subreddit, we lifted the veil on what Parisians liked best about their city, before delving into what they hated. And since the answers didn’t fail to make us laugh, we ventured over to another post, courtesy of user u/draum_bok, who asked the following question: “what are the craziest things you’ve seen in Paris?” Here are the testimonials that made the biggest impression on us.
The elephant
“As for me: once I was on my way to work and saw an elephant crossing the street. Someone came out in a panic to tell me it was for a movie and you mustn’t go near the elephant.”
The Cockatoo
“The lady dressed in white on her scooter with cockatoo of the same color with spread wings in the 14th it’s not mega crazy but it’s funny.”
The man from the future
“The man from the future who rides around on a gyroroue, dressed in silver with techno music playing.”
The Green Thumb
“A guy in the park in the rain with several potted plants, “so they can make friends.”
The portable garden
“It’s not particularly crazy but there used to be a guy on a bike and his bike was a portable garden. He was really cool.”
The supporter
“I’ve been living in Paris for three years. I’m Irish and in three years I’ve been to three quarter-finals of rugby tournaments in the city and seen Ireland lose all three.”
The photo
“A group of girlfriends showing off their butts as a group to the fly boats, and there the flashes of tourist cameras it looks like the 14th of July.”
Bonus
“The price of accommodation”
And you, what’s the craziest thing you’ve seen in Paris?
