Will the heat wave return in September?
We thought heat waves were a thing of the past… Unfortunately, the weather forecasts are clear: the heat is definitely back this week. In fact, a high-pressure system coming from the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa is set to push very hot air over France…
The result? Dry, sunny weather is expected to arrive in Paris as early as Thursday, September 3. In Paris, temperatures are expected to be 2° to 4° above seasonal averages. This weekend, the mercury is expected to hover around 30°C, but for now, no forecast indicates a severe or prolonged heatwave in the Île-de-France region.
What’s more, the nights will start to get longer, allowing temperatures to drop significantly and thus preventing heat waves. So for now, there’s no cause for alarm! While the heat is expected to return as early as this Thursday and continue through the weekend, a heat wave still seems to be one of the least likely scenarios.
