Every year, the Palais Garnier, Paris’s architectural jewel, welcomes a majestic Christmas tree into its grand foyer. For 2024, floral artist Anne Vitchen has designed an enchanting tree in collaboration with the famous Ladurée house, adding a touch of gourmandise and elegance to this already sumptuous setting. If you’re in the neighborhood, you’ll want to check it out!
Opéra Garnier’s sumptuous Christmas tree unveiled
With December well underway, the magic of Christmas is gradually taking hold of the city. Craft markets, illuminations and skating rinks: the whole of Paris is getting into the spirit until 2025. So, when the festive season rolls around, we’re lucky enough to see the most beautiful and majestic fir trees standing in the heart of the city’s institutions. And today, we’re talking about the magnificent fir tree at the Opéra Garnier, which, in our opinion, is the most beautiful of the season in Paris.
The fir tree, in dazzling white enhanced by silver and gold decorations, rises from the center of the palace, creating a harmony that goes perfectly with the festive end-of-year atmosphere and the mythological frescoes adorning the walls and ceiling of the Palais Garnier. The twinkling light from the garlands illuminates the surrounding gilding, creating a marvellous spectacle.
This enchanting setting now attracts visitors every day to admire or immortalize this visual spectacle. The choice of silver, rather than gold, lends the tree a certain wintry freshness that is much appreciated. Some even see it as an allusion to the contemporary ballets presented on stage.
More than just a seasonal decoration, the Palais Garnier fir tree is a true work of art to be admired without moderation!
