The month of January has barely begun, but it’s already full of exciting events! One of the highlights of the new year is the Nuits de la lecture (Reading Nights ), with its XXL program of events, accessible to all, dedicated to the pleasure of reading!
Les Nuits de la lecture: a celebration of reading
Initiated by the Centre national du livre and the French Ministry of Culture, the Nuits de la lecture are back for the 9th time! It’s the ideal event for young and old to discover the art and practice of reading in all its incarnations! The program is national, hybrid and largely free, and can be enjoyed in a multitude of venues this January!
From January 23 to 26, Nuits de la lecture invites you to enjoy meetings, events, workshops and performances (thousands in all) in local libraries, bookshops, cafés, museums, galleries and other cultural venues!
A celebration of heritage
This year, the theme of heritage will link the many events! In the Île-de-France region, you’ll find a whole host of exciting and surprising events: a show that combines drag shows with poetic and committed readings at the Palais Galliera (16th), literary karaoke with Maylis de Kerangal (7th), a two-voice reading of Dictionnaire amoureux de l’inutile by François Morel and his son Valentin Morel (20th) or a performance that combines reading and rap at the Étoile du Nord (18th).
For young audiences: pyjama reading sessions, discovery of non-Western tales and themed tea party (18th), manga cover-making workshop (Aubervilliers)…
