As the festive season approaches, the magic of Christmas is gradually taking hold in the Paris region. Some of you may already be planning a stroll through the Christmas markets, or a weekend in the most beautiful villages near Paris. But we’ve got something completely different in store for you: the most glittering stroll on the outskirts of Paris! Welcome to Thoiry Zoo, which is once again reinventing itself for its 8th edition, unveiling a new theme inspired by Día de los Muertos in Mexico. Over the course of 3 km, you’ll discover more than 3,000 luminous sculptures that are sure to put stars in your eyes. A magical experience where young and old alike embark on a journey to the heart of imaginary worlds populated by fantastic creatures.
Île-de-France’s largest light trail at the gateway to Paris
Until March 8, 2026, travel to the heart of dreamland, on a magnificent six-hectare illuminated trail. You’ll discover a park completely transformed into a dream world, where each step reveals a new scene worthy of a fairy tale. After taking us on a journey into the world of Jules Verne last year, Thoiry Zoo is offering a brand new theme this year. A poetic epic at the heart of the spirit ball, inspired by the famous Día de los Muertos festival in Mexico. Through an immersive soundscape, your eyes will marvel at the beauty of the 3,000 hand-crafted light sculptures, set in a preserved ecosystem.
As you stroll along, you’ll encounter fabulous animals, giant plants, colorful masks and magical landscapes in a breathtaking journey of sound and sight. And this year, the Orangerie du Château becomes the new starting point for this enchanted stroll. As always, there’s no waste : 5,000 illuminated lanterns from last year’s event have been recycled and sublimated to fit in perfectly with the new theme.
Between the world of the living and benevolent spirits, your adventure will take you to the four corners of the globe: from the South Pacific to South Asia, from Africa to Latin America. A poetic ride for the whole family, a must-see this winter!
