The Montreux Christmas Market is one of the liveliest Christmas markets around. At the heart of this huge open-air Santa’s workshop, the fairytale is on. Every day, high above Lake Geneva, Santa seems to float through the air in his illuminated sleigh, singing and waving to the crowds at 5, 6 and 7pm. On weekends, Santa and his fluffy white beard also take to the skies at 4pm, adding an extra touch of magic. A unique spectacle rarely seen elsewhere, it’s all the more incredible at sunset, when the sky takes on its most beautiful shades of pink, red and orange.
