Parc Astérix has been entertaining young and old alike for 35 years. Thrill-seekers love to go there to try out thrill rides like Toutatis, France’s highest and fastest roller-coaster. Families, meanwhile, love strolling through the Gaulish village to say hello to Asterix, Obelix and all their friends. To celebrate its anniversary in style, the park will soon be inaugurating a brand new attraction! And we bet you’ll love it just as much as all the others.
Cétautomatix: Parc Astérix’s new attraction
This brand-new roller coaster, currently under construction, will be at the center of the Gaulish zone. As its name suggests, it pays homage to Cétautomatix, the village’s famous blacksmith. You know, that famous character who’s always arguing with the fishmonger, Ordralfabétix and the bard Assurancetourix!
This spinning coaster, designed as a dynamic, spinning roller coaster, is sure to thrill. Aboard chariots that can accommodate up to four intrepid Gauls, you’ll face off against other passengers, which is quite original for this type of attraction. The special feature of a spinning coaster is its chariot! It not only turns on itself, but also follows the rails of the course, which increases the sensations!
While we don’t yet know how fast the ride will reach its peak, we do know that you’ll need to be at least one metre tall to access it. Most of the attraction will be outdoors, but an indoor section should also be included. Perhaps you’ll be able to visit the workshops of the village’s famous blacksmith?
We can’t wait until 2025 to try it out!
