Beneath the cobblestones of Paris and just a stone’s throw from the Eiffel Tower lies a place as unexpected as it is magnetic: the Aquarium de Paris. Nestled in a sumptuous Art Deco palace built for the 1937 World’s Fair, this legendary aquarium holds many surprises, including a highly sought-after pop-up café named Poisson Lune.

A tropical aquarium in the heart of Paris
With over 13,500 fish swimming in spectacular tanks, the Aquarium de Paris transports its visitors to waters around the world. From multicolored coral reefs to mysterious depths, each area recreates a fascinating ecosystem. Here, you can observe up close over 400 coral colonies—true living gems that are essential to marine biodiversity.
Europe’s largest collection of jellyfish
The Aquarium de Paris is home to the largest collection of jellyfish in Europe and the second largest in the world! It’s one of the venue’s best-kept secrets: a mesmerizing room dedicated to jellyfish—the Medusarium. Illuminated by a play of light, these translucent creatures dance in the water, captivating young and old alike. An ultra-photogenic spot that delights visitors from near and far.

A fun, family-friendly experience
Designed as a place of exploration, the aquarium also features touch tanks where you can interact with certain fish, as well as educational activities to help visitors understand the challenges of ocean conservation. It’s the perfect family activity in Paris, especially if you’re looking for a unique outing off the beaten path.

A pop-up terrace we all want to check out this summer
We’re buzzing with excitement at the thought of soaking up the sun on the terrace at Poisson Lune, a pop-up café set up every summer on the plaza in front of the Palais de la Porte Dorée. This year should be no exception: the spot usually opens in mid-May, but we ’ll be checking its social media regularly to make sure we can snag the first spots in the sun!
