Right in the heart of the Porte de la Villette district, this former supermarket turned street artists’ hangout will be opening its doors to the public for unusual private tours. Thanks to the investment of artists Lek and Sowat, hundreds of spectacular works will emerge from the shadows and be unveiled to the public.
A giant street art lair soon to be unveiled to the public
For months, an abandoned supermarket in the north of Paris has discreetly housed ephemeral works painted on its walls by dozens of renowned artists… Well, this astonishing place will finally open its doors to the public on October 1, 2025.
Some fifteen years ago, street artists Lek and Sowat began taking over this deserted 40,000 m2 space, transforming it into a wild exhibition ground. Over the course of an entire year, some forty graffiti artists, emblematic figures or emerging talents, have metamorphosed the premises into a gigantic showcase of street art, soon to be unveiled to the eyes of Parisians.

What was once a purely urbex experience is now accessible to all. Lek and Sowat. have decided to reveal this “Mausoleum” of street art in a series of free guided tours, offered to the general public for the first time. Led by torchlight, “as in Lascaux”, these explorations organized in groups of around twenty people will bring together street art enthusiasts and the curious alike.
In short, if you’re looking for an atypical outing that combines thrills and authenticity, this eagerly-awaited opening is a nugget not to be missed this autumn. Registration for tours will be available online in September. It’s a not-to-be-missed outing, especially as the premises are destined to disappear in the near future.
