The oldest flower market in Paris
Located in the 4th arrondissement, just a short walk from Notre-Dame de Paris and the Sainte-Chapelle, it’s sure to enchant you. Since 1808, it has offered a wide variety of colorful flowers and exotic plants, some of which come from all over the world.
Half-covered by a very elegant 20th-century metal structure that runs along the Quai de Corse on the Île de la Cité, the market had lost some of its splendor over the years… It wasn’t until 2023, after about two years of renovation work, that Parisians were able to rediscover this piece of their heritage, so dear to their hearts.
Renamed the Queen Elizabeth II Flower Market in 2014 in honor of the British monarch, the queen even made a personal visit a few years ago, much to the delight of the florists and artisans on site. Open free of charge every day of the year, an endlessarray of plants, multicolored flowers, and other gardening accessories will unfold before your eyes as the months go by. It’s a wonderful and enchanting place to discover during a refreshing, idyllic stroll.
