This winter sees the (re)launch of another option for skiing from Paris. After several years without a similar service, the Travelski Night Express train has been relaunched for the 2025-2026 season. An initiative of the Compagnie des Alpes group subsidiary, it combines transport, overnight accommodation on board and direct arrival at ski resorts in the French Alps.
A new rail option for skiing
The principle behind this new travel option is simple and well thought-out for ski lovers: the train departs Friday evening from Paris, crosses the night and arrives on Saturday morning at Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Aime or Moûtiers station. From there, shuttles or organized transfers take you directly to legendary resorts such as Val d’Isère, Tignes, Courchevel, Méribel, Val Thorens, Les Arcs, La Plagne or Les Ménuires.
On board, there are up to 660 comfortable berths for sleeping during the journey, a bar-restaurant car for nibbling or relaxing, and private or shared spaces to suit your needs. Bookings opened in May 2025, with rotations scheduled until March 20, 2026, for a total of some fifteen weekly round trips to accommodate weekend departures or school vacation periods.
The return of night trains to the Alps is also part of a wider strategy to reduce the environmental impact of winter travel, while offering a comfortable, user-friendly alternative to the car or plane. The typical weekend also saves time: you arrive on Saturday morning, put on your skis straight away, enjoy the snow all day, then return to the train in the late afternoon to head back to Paris.
A new option to consider before planning your week on the slopes!
