Good news: by 2025, Montrouge will have a brand-new green space. This brand-new park will be located on the site of a building that is to be completely demolished. It will undoubtedly be a haven of peace for local residents. And while you’re waiting for the park to open, you can choose your own name for it!
A new green space in Montrouge
This new 1,300 m² park, soon to be located at 127 avenue de la République, will feature a 100 m² pool for cooling off in summer. Over twenty trees will be planted, in addition to the 13 existing ones, to bring shade to the park! The garden will extend along the Avenue de la République, which will become entirely planted and pedestrianized. The Place du 8 mai 1945 will also be redeveloped.
Choose the name of Montrouge’s future park
What’s more, for this new green space, the Hauts-de-Seine municipality is giving you the power! The power to choose the name… You can choose from six proposals:
- Parc Fernand-Léger, in tribute to the painter who lived in Montrouge
- Le jardin des Poètes, to commemorate the names of local streets
- Parc Ariane-Mnouchkine, a talented theater director who lived in Montrouge
- Parc de la Dignité, in direct connection with the statue that once stood on Place du 8 mai 1945, and which could be moved to the park
- Parc de la Vallière, the name of the former château in the heart of Montrouge
- Parc de La Fontaine, a reference to the street of the same name

For the time being, we’ll have to wait for the old building to be completely demolished, and for the land to be cleared of pollutants. Work will start in spring 2025 and last for 10 long months. With a little patience, the park will be ready by the end of 2025! You’ll be able to enjoy it to the full.
