Residents of the 11th arrondissement have been waiting 10 years for it. But in 2026, it will now be a reality! A magnificent brand-new cinema will open on avenue Parmentier, a stone’s throw from place de la République and the lively Oberkampf district. Housed in a very old electrical substation in the district, the magnificent building will feature five state-of-the-art cinemas, as well as a fully planted rooftop and a solidarity restaurant run by the team trained by Thierry Marx, if you please.
A new cinema nestled in the 11ᵉ
It’s good news! After the successive closures of numerous cinemas within the capital, a new temple to the 7ᵉ Art that will open very soon in Paris. Located in the 11ᵉ arrondissement, in a former XXᵉ century factory that has been completely restored and redesigned, this cultural venue will undoubtedly bring much joy to the already lively neighborhood.

In this magnificent setting called Étoile Voltaire, you’ll find five comfortable screening rooms, a planted rooftop in which you’ll find a café and a solidarity restaurant. In the kitchen? A team of professionals trained in Thierry Marx’s schools, no less! Cinema-goers will have plenty of time to enjoy this inventive cuisine with their screenings, while taking in the view.

The cinema will also be home to the Maison du Cinéma, offering masterclasses, workshops and meetings in association with the Société des réalisateurs français. Although we don’t yet know the exact opening date, we do know that it should open in 2026… We can’t wait to discover this cultural mecca, which is already shaping up to be a real place to live.
