When two prestigious Parisian institutions meet, it’s bound to sparkle. And that’s exactly what’s in store for the weekend of May 24 and 25 at the Musée d’Orsay. The Moulin Rouge’s various artists will take to the stage among the museum’s emblematic works for a wide range of events combining music, shows and crafts.
A weekend of celebration and cabaret at the Musée d’Orsay
At the very heart of the spring season, when the whole of Paris will be celebrating, the museum with the world’s largest Impressionist collection will be hosting a unique event. The Moulin Rouge will be joining forces with the Musée d’Orsay for an exciting weekend of festivities and culture. Dancers, costume designers and other artisans will take over the Moulin Rouge for two consecutive days.
The program includes daytime and evening entertainment. In the village hall, costume-makers, boot-makers and embroiderers will share their know-how and the secrets of their trade with the public in fascinating exchanges. Four times during the weekend, a magnificent parade will be organized, giving you the opportunity to admire the beauty of the institution’s costumes. Finally, in the auditorium, conferences and talks will take place, notably on the theme of the famous French cancan.
The icing on the cake is that most of these events are free of charge on presentation of a museum admission ticket. So your visit to the Musée d’Orsay can be extended with this magnificent cross-over event.
